Behind the scenes at the Cyber Security Challenge Belgium 2026

On Saturday 28 March 2026, Belgium’s top cybersecurity students will go head-to-head in the grand final of the Cyber Security Challenge Belgium (CSCBE) 2026, an event celebrating its 12th edition and firmly established as one of Europe’s leading cybersecurity competitions for young talent. The final takes the form of a one-day on-site event, bringing together the best teams from the online qualifying rounds to compete for the title.

An exclusive behind-the-scenes experience for the press

On an exceptional basis, we are opening the doors behind the scenes of this event to journalists, giving them the opportunity to explore questions such as:

  • Who are these young cybersecurity talents?
  • What skills do they deploy to solve complex challenges?
  • How does a Capture The Flag (CTF) competition actually work?
  • Why is cybersecurity drawing in more and more students?

Journalists will have the chance to watch participants in action, and to speak with them, the organisers and industry experts.

Much more than just a competition

The Cyber Security Challenge Belgium is built around a vital mission: to identify, train and inspire the cybersecurity talents of tomorrow.

In a landscape where cyber threats are constantly on the rise and affect every sector, the demand for qualified experts far outstrips the available supply.

The CSCBE contributes to:

  • raising awareness among young people about cybersecurity issues
  • developing practical skills through realistic scenarios
  • connecting students with companies seeking talent

The challenges on offer include:

  • cryptography
  • reverse engineering
  • web and mobile application security
  • forensic analysis

Unique opportunities

Beyond the competition itself, participants stand to win:

  • specialised training in cybersecurity
  • career opportunities with partner companies
  • Among the winners, 35 will be selected to join the “Belgian Red Daemons Team”¹ — the national squad that will represent Belgium at the European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC).
