On 6 May 2026, Belgium’s human rights policy will be reviewed during the 4th Universal Periodic Review (UPR) at the United Nations Human Rights Council. The Federal Council for Sustainable Development will organize a conference on financing biodiversity on Tuesday 19 May in Brussels, with the title ‘A credit to nature: a matter of interest’.

The war in the Middle East continues to hit the population in Lebanon hard. After a first donation in March, Belgium is once again responding to this need for help by sending additional emergency aid supplies via B-FAST, in order to help this highly vulnerable population.
