The Belgian Debt Agency is pleased to present the 2023 Allocation & Impact report for the amounts of the two Green OLOs issued in 2023, the sixth year of green bond issuance by the Kingdom of Belgium.

In 2023, a total nominal amount of EUR 1.56 billion was issued in auctions, EUR 0.70 billion in OLO86 and EUR 0.86 billion in OLO96.

That amount has been allocated proportionally among the various categories of eligible expenditure already identified at federal level (i.e. rail transport...

The Belgian Debt Agency informs that it has accepted bids of Treasury certificates for a total amount of EUR 3.208 billion, distributed into the following lines :

As of the end of June 2024, the federal government debt amounted to EUR 521.609 billion. Federal government debt thus decreased by EUR 11.50 billion since May.

In net terms (after deducting placements and securities held in portfolio), the federal government debt increased by EUR 4.02 billion to EUR 501.394 billion. 

The net balance to be financed amounted to EUR 4.012 billion (to the detriment of the Treasury).

From 1 January 2024 to 30 June 2024, Belgium chaired the Council of the European Union, the body in which the 27 member states set the political direction and priorities of the European Union. During this period, the FAMHP organised over 20 events and meetings to promote cooperation and dialogue among member states and with European institutions. In addition, the FAMHP provided expertise to many important European initiatives. Time for a recap.

Following the update of the 2024 funding plan according which the borrowing requirements are expected to decrease, the Belgian Debt Agency has decided to cancel the OLO auction on August 19.
So far the Agency has already completed 73.9% of its OLO program, and 72.9% of the total program.
