Foreign Affairs welcomes new spokesperson Maxime Ramon

From 1 September, the FPS Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation welcomes a new spokesperson, Maxime Ramon. Together with Florinda Baleci, who has served in this role for two years, he will represent the official voice of the FPS Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation in its relations with the media.

Maxime brings a wealth of experience to the position. Until now, he had served as deputy director of the Economic Interests Directorate and as coordinator of state visits. A career diplomat, he has been posted to Ottawa, Taipei and Seoul. He studied political science and international relations at the Université libre de Bruxelles, University College Dublin, Utrecht University and the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3. Maxime speaks French, Dutch, English and Spanish.

This change follows the departure of David Jordens and Pierre Steverlynck from their roles as spokespersons earlier this summer. David Jordens has been appointed Ambassador of Belgium to Indonesia, while Pierre Steverlynck will take up his new position as Consul General in Mumbai.
