The government has taken note of the decisions announced during Fortis Holding's general meeting. Subsequent to these decisions, the government has 100% ownership of Fortis Bank.

Fortis Bank's customers will not feel any impact because of the decisions. In its capacity as a shareholder, the government will shoulder its responsibilities and do its utmost to guarantee the operations of this financial institution. Ever since the financial crisis erupted the government has sought to defend the general interests and the interests of savers and the staff of the financial institutions. Fortis Bank's customers have no need to be concerned.
The next step is to create new opportunities for Fortis Bank so that the employees can also identify with the new project. The Bank's decision-making bodies will be taking the initiatives required towards this end.
