Federal Government Debt at the end of July 2022

Press release from the Belgian Debt Agency:

As of the end of July 2022, the federal government debt amounted to EUR 469.470 billion. This means that this debt decreased by EUR 2.11 billion compared to June.

In net terms (after deducting placements and securities held in portfolio), the federal government debt decreased by 3.59 billion euros, to 447.593 billion euros.

The net balance to be financed in July was EUR -3.600 billion.

The average duration of the federal government debt increased by 0.15 years to 10.57 years in July 2022, while the average interest rate of the debt instruments increased to 1.37%. The 12-month and 60-month refinancing risks amounted to 12.96% and 36.38%, respectively.
