Beliris, a collaboration between the Federal Government and the Brussels-Capital Region for construction, renovation and heritage restoration projects in the capital, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Since its creation, Beliris has undertaken hundreds of large-scale projects, representing a total investment of €2.6 billion in a wide range of fields: mobility, social housing, green spaces, neighbourhood regeneration, culture, heritage, sport, etc.
A weekend of festivities
To mark its 30th anniversary, Beliris, in collaboration with visit.brussels and a number of Brussels communes, organised a series of original, fun activities based on its key projects. The activities took place in several areas of the capital, divided into six zones: the Canal Zone (City of Brussels), the Central Zone (City of Brussels), the Josaphat Zone (Schaerbeek), the Couronne Zone (Ixelles), the Jourdan Zone (Etterbeek) and the Heyvaert Quarter (Molenbeek).
Throughout the weekend, a wide range of activities awaited visitors. Sports, concerts, dance classes, exhibitions, guided tours, circus initiations – all tastes and age groups were catered for, there was something for everyone.
The weekend was a true celebration for no fewer than 10 000 people who came to enjoy the many activities on offer. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work of Beliris, an institution that has become a key player in the capital's major renovation projects.
