Expo 2025 Osaka: FPS Chancellery organises Belgian concert during Belgian National Day

On 14 September, the FPS Chancellery of the Prime Minister will put Belgium in the spotlight in Japan during Belgian National Day at the Expo 2025 Osaka world exhibition, in collaboration with BelExpo and the Belgian pavilion. Belgian artists Mentissa and Helena will perform at the National Day Hall together with the Nishinomiya Boys and Girls Choir, composed of 100 Japanese children.

Less than two months ago, both artists sang together on the stage of 'Belgian Party', the event organised annually by the Chancellery to mark the end of the National Day celebrations and which attracted 100,000 visitors this year. With this experience under their belts, the Chancellery and the artists are preparing to repeat this wonderful moment in Japan. From 11 a.m., Mentissa and Helena, joined by the choir, will offer a taste of their performance during the opening ceremony, followed at 3 p.m. by the main highlight: 'Belgium in Concert'. Both performances will take place at the National Day Hall of Expo 2025 Osaka, in the presence of federal ministers and the president of the Chancellery.

The choice for Japan is no coincidence: after all, the Chancellery is in charge of the international country branding campaign ‘Belgium. Open for business’. In this context, the Chancellery welcomed a delegation of journalists from some of Japan's biggest media outlets just last week. During this visit, the journalists discovered different aspects of Belgium’s biomedical expertise.

On 14 September, the Chancellery will welcome these journalists once again. This time in Japan, where Belgian know-how in life sciences and biotech is getting all the attention at the Belgian pavilion. Managed by BelExpo, the pavilion has welcomed more than 675,000 visitors since its opening. The Belgian pavilion organises this national day, which encompasses activities spread across the entire Expo site.
