Federal Government Debt at the end of October 2021

As of the end of October 2021, the federal government debt amounted to EUR 449.451 billion. This means that this debt decreased by EUR 1.054 billion compared to September 2021.

In net terms (after deducting placements and securities held in portfolio), the federal government debt decreased by 842 million euros in October, to EUR 437.262 billion.

The net balance to be financed for September 2021 amounted to EUR -843 million.

The average maturity of the federal government debt decreased by 0.05 year to 10.15 years in October 2021, while the average interest rate of the debt instruments slightly increased to 1.44%. The 12-month and 60-month refinancing risks amounted to 13.59% and 39.27%, respectively.
