Sunday, 27 January is the date set for the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. In its present capacity as holder of the Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, Belgium specifically intends to comply with the duty to honour the memory of the victims of this cruel genocide. The United Nations has chosen for this year's observance of the Day of Commemoration the theme of Rescue during the Holocaust: the courage to care.

The Belgian Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 365.17 billion as of 31 December 2012. Debt issued or taken over by the federal government amounted to EUR 364.82 billion, and the institutions for which the federal government supports the debt service, registered a debt of EUR 0.35 billion.
In net terms (i.e. deducting financial deposits and investments, as well as securities owned by the Treasury), the Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 354.69 billion.
 

Today, the Belgian Debt Agency publishes its Review-Outlook 2012-2013 in attachment. This brochure full of information is also available on the Agency’s website: www.debtagency.be.
A more substantial annual report on the year 2012 will also be published later during the first half of the year 2013.
