The Belgian Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 372.34 billion as of end June 2012. Debt issued or taken over by the federal government amounted to EUR 371.97 billion and the institutions for which the federal government supports the debt service registered a debt of EUR 0.37 billion.
In net terms (i.e. deducting financial deposits and investments, as well as securities owned by the Treasury), the Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 353.7 billion.
 

As of 2004 the Federal Public Service of Health, Food Chain Safety and Environment represents our country in the International Whaling Commission (IWC). This year’s meeting of the Commission took place in Panama, from July 2nd until July 6th.
