The Belgian Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 419.24 billion as of 30 September 2020.

Debt issued or taken over by the federal government amounted to EUR 419.05 billion, and the institutions for which the federal government supports the debt service, registered a debt of EUR 0.20 billion.

In net terms (i.e. deducting financial deposits and investments, as well as securities owned by the Treasury), the Federal Government Debt amounted to EUR 403.02 billion.

The federal government and the minister-presidents of the federated entities today examined the epidemiological situation of COVID-19. The Consultation Committee deems the situation particularly serious and has therefore decided to bolster the hygiene measures. The Consultation Committee has also appointed a COVID-19 commissioner.

As part of the measures announced on March 30th in response to the Covid-19 crisis, the Belgian Debt Agency planned to issue an extra medium-term line in the first Treasury Certificate auction of each even month.

In order to optimize its cash position during the following months, the Debt Agency will now return to the initial auction scheme.

As a result, only one short-term Treasury Certificate will be auctioned in the first auction of October and December.

Within the framework of its announced Buyback program for bonds coming to maturity within 12 months, the Belgian Debt Agency starts quoting bid prices on a special window on the MTS AM electronic platform as of today September 29th, 2020 to buy back its OLO 61 BE0000321308 having a current outstanding of 16.945.000.000 EUR.

The bond has its final maturity on September 28th, 2021.
